During my time with the Purdue Contemporary Dance Company, I had the opportunity to step into the role of sound designer and composer for a 10-minute dance performance in a 300-seat theater. Collaborating closely with the choreographer, we put together a dynamic soundscape that not only complemented but elevated the dancers’ movements. The challenge was finding the perfect balance—creating music and sound that was immersive without overshadowing the performance. I composed original pieces while also experimenting with sound design to build a variety of atmospheric layers . Every sound, from subtle textures to bold musical moments, was designed to support and amplify the storytelling on stage.
